Ayurveda recognizes that each person’s well-being path is unique. In an Ayurvedic wellness session, you learn about your unique mind-body constitution and are guided in taking steps toward balance, health and harmony. As such, Ayurveda is not a passive form of health, but rather a health system that invites you into an active role of taking responsibility for your health and well-being.

Work with Annie
As a Ayurvedic Lifestyle Specialist, Yoga Health Coach, and an Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coach, I am trained in health promotion and disease prevention. I have a comprehensive knowledge of health, nutrition, and fitness issues and am trained to educate clients in integrative and preventative healthcare and offer wellness coaching. I help individuals improve their diet, lifestyle, and stress management using the education and tools of the Ayurvedic healing system, yoga, and habit change science. When appropriate I may also educate clients about the use of health promoting herbal remedies. My aim is to listen deeply, see each client as a unique and whole person, and work cooperatively to restore balance and well-being. |
What's involved?
The goal of Ayurvedic wellness is to restore balance in all areas of life and to prevent illness and disease. Part assessment, part education, and part coaching, Ayurvedic wellness sessions are designed to be a collaborate opportunity to explore your health and well-being challenges and goals, identify obstacles, and find effective solutions for meeting your goals. |
Initial session
An Ayurvedic wellness session begins with a conversation about your health and wellbeing goals. Together we discuss your health history, diet, and lifestyle, utilizing an Ayurvedic assessment model, we consider your mind-body constitution (prakruti) and your current state of imbalance (vikruti).
Customized wellness and goal setting
After this, we work collaboratively on a customized wellness program based on your health situation and your goals. Your wellness program may include:
• Education and strategies for improving diet and nutrition
• Strategies for improving sleep
• Self-care practices
• Daily routine and lifestyle habits
• Exercise and movement routines
• Tools for stress management
• Strategies for improved social support
• Education regarding health promoting herbal remedies
Recommendations and referrals to other practitioners and specialists are given when appropriate.
Follow-up sessions
After your initial session you may wish to receive follow-up coaching sessions in which we assess and discuss your health and wellbeing and continue to work collaboratively toward helping you toward your goals. Changing health and wellbeing takes time and it can take several sessions to get you to your goals.
Some areas we may choose to focus on in your follow up sessions are:
• Diet and lifestyle changes
• Behavior and habit change - Identifying the behaviors that are contributing to your current health challenges and the changes necessary to overcome these challenges
• Consciousness - Uncovering your hidden obstacles and resistance to making behavior changes
• Culture and relationships - Identifying areas in your relationships and culture that contribute to or prevent your health and wellness
• Systems - Modifying your environment and schedule so that they support your health.
