Ayurveda recommends a gentle detox twice a year, each spring and fall to eliminate toxins from the body. It's an opportunity to reset nutrition, movement and rest for a healthier season.
Toxins are calla ama in Ayurveda, and ama is defined as undigested gunk that accumulates in the body and mind. There are physical toxins, as well as environmental toxins, and there are also mental and emotional toxins. It's pretty hard to lead a toxin-free life in this day and age and that's why Ayurveda recommends detoxing twice a year.
Toxins or ama show up in a variety of ways.
Ama shows up in the body as
weak immunity, poor energy, creaky or inflamed joints, sluggishness, congestion, fuzzy thinking, poor memory, heaviness, lethargy, bloating, poor digestion, bad breath, gunk on the tongue and unhealthy cravings.
Ama shows up in the mind as
mood swings, worry, distraction, anxiety, depression or a feeling of dissatisfaction and loss of joy.
Ama shows up in our behaviors as

This simple detox is based on healthy, whole food, plant based foods. No need to buy any fancy supplements or ingredients. Our focus is on healthy, fresh, seasonal foods that are naturally detoxifying. You decide what to eat and you customize your meals based on my guidance and suggestions. You receive education and support for cleaning up your diet along with suggestions and recipes for meal planning.
This detox is an opportunity for resetting your daily habits to support your wellbeing. You receive support and resources for starting a better exercise or yoga routine, improving your self-care, and getting better sleep.
- In Week 1, you prepare and are guided into detox mode.
- In Week 2, you are supported to deepen your detox.

- Recorded Audio and video lessons to help you plan for, execute, and complete your spring detox.
- 4 weekly live group sessions via ZOOM video-conference on Wedesdays March 25, April 1, 8 at 7 PM and 15 guidance, support and trouble-shooting during your detox. To join these meetings, you'll need a computer, smartphone or tablet with internet access. Download the ZOOM app on your chosen device. You will then receive details and a link for joining the meeting
